VARIOUS ITEMS Site HelpIn general, links are blue and change colour to red when the mouse is over them. There is also a little message that appears showing what the link does. The Menu is always in a horizontal strip below the header image. There may be additional external links shown in the right hand column In some instances, the heading will also be a link to additional information. Links will be blue and become red underlined when your mouse hovers over them. Images with a blue border will expand when the mouse hovers over them. This Web Site. This is a database driven web site. It's not one of the commercial CMS programmes, which are no doubt excellent but one I've developed myself to suit my own needs. Most of the proprietary packages use MySQL, but I decided to use MS Access because that has some user advantages.Basically, it uses two 'templates'. One for text (where you are reading this) and one for data such as the 'links' page. The 'Links' page reflects my own interests but might be interesting and useful to the casual visitor. It is actually my aide memoire because so often I find something of interesting while 'browsing' the world wide web and then forget where I found the information. I want to express my gratitude to Brian, who lives in Canada, for his help, support and tuition on the subjects of PHP and CSS. Without him, this web site would not exist in it's current form. BITS AND PIECES Flesch If we were to draw a conclusion from the Flesch Reading Ease Formula, then the best text should contain shorter sentences and words. The score between 60 and 70 is largely considered acceptable. Rosecrucians3![]() Pegasus Renatus (Samuel Richter), Pasteur Lutheran interested by alchemy, melts "the Order of the gold Rosicrucian brotherhood" in Nuremberg and Ancone. This order recruits only among the Freemasons, and thus forms a certain osmosis between the rosicrucism and freemasonry. |
WELCOME A message from the web master3![]() ![]() Museum Logo Good to see you on this site. Thanks for visiting. It's early days and I haven't decided what the theme of this site will be. I'm just hunting around for some idea I can latch onto. It has occurred to me that although there are many sites describing how to build or how to use a database driven web site based on MySQL, no one, as far as I can see covers database driven sites using MS Access. MySQL is superior to MS Access in many ways I am told but 'Access' has some clear advantages. Maybe that will be my 'Theme'.
